Clare has worked across educational, non-for-profit and corporate sectors, facilitating personal and professional growth. Clare is a published author both in Australia and the USA, in the both the popular and academic press. She is passionate about the provision of high-class learning opportunities not only for children and young people but also for those in positions of leadership. Her co- authored publication, “Teachers as Architects of Learning” represents 12 powerful constructs for learning that can be applied in any learning-focused setting. Underpinning Clare philosophy in working with people is a belief in the unique power that lies within each individual to build a ‘life worth living’. A life that exemplifies powerful and trusting relationships, a strong connection to self and community, achievement and success and, most importantly, a sense of inner peace and wellbeing. Clare is also excited about the potential of animal assisted therapies and experiences within her practice. Sharon Batty

My name is Sharon Batty, here is a little bit about me. I was born in England and migrated to Australia in 1993. Prior to becoming a psychologist, I was a nurse serving in the English Navy then working as a nurse in WA and Victoria. I have 4 adult children, one of whom has Autism.  I have had full registration as a psychologist since 2016 and my internship was completed at primary schools in Victoria. Since gaining full registration I have been in private practice in South Australia working with clients of all ages although my focus has been with children. I have experience working with most difficulties experienced by children and their parents and can conduct assessments too (although these are not covered by Medicare). Parental involvement in therapy is important and I welcome your input and feedback, I will also involve you in any recommendations for behaviour change or anxiety management for example. In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors especially by the water, fishing, and camping. I am a big MotoGP fan and have attended races overseas as well as Phillip Island, my goal is to eventually attend every track! I love animals and at every opportunity will promote their therapeutic benefits, I have a beautiful Golden Retriever, Poppy and a Siamese cat called Precious who definitely lives up to her name! I look forward to meeting you all.
